Emmett Merrill was born only 12 years ago in Kansas City, MO and is a sixth
grader at his school. His interest in politics and film dates back to
when Bush first started getting his "revelations" and he has since begun to make films
under the umbrella of The Caution Corp. Emmett's movies range from political to
elf animations.

Moral Politics

It's refreshing to see a resurgence of interest in George Lakoff's principles of cognitive linguistics as they apply to the current political landscape.  After just finishing his recently published "Don't Think of an Elephant", I was more than intrigued to go back to his original treatise on this topic first published in 1996.  An esteemed professor of linguistics at UC Berkeley, Lakoff is a senior fellow of the Rockridge Institute, the renowned liberal think tank that concentrates in part on helping Democratic candidates and politicians with re-framing political metaphors.

Civilian Death Toll in Iraq Exceeds 100,000

The invasion of Iraq in March 2003 by coalition forces has lead to the death of at least 100,000 civilians, reveals the first scientific study to examine the issue.  .  The majority of these deaths, which are in addition those normally expected from natural causes, illness and accidents, have been among women and children, finds the study, released early by The Lancet on Thursday.
